Bicycle® Connects with Hunter Baize on the Racetrack
NASCAR® rookie contender Hunter Baize has teamed up with H Scott Motorsports with Justin Marks and Bicyclecards.com for the 2016 racing season. This marks the first return to NASCAR® for the Bicycle® Brand since 2012.
Bicycle® has been involved in NASCAR® since 2002, with Xfinity driver Tim Fedawa and Team owner, former Pittsburg Steeler, Terry Bradshaw, Camping World Truck series driver, Jack Sprague, and Sprint Cup driver Landon Cassill.
Hunter was born December 2, 1997. This will be Hunter’s first season in the NASCAR® K & N Pro Series as he competes for Rookie of the Year. Hunter, his father (Robbie) and mother (Melinda), run a family wood products business in Bremen, Kentucky with Hunter’s two other siblings. Currently attending school for his college degree, Hunter also enjoys basketball, and time with family and friends.
Long before Hunter could legally drive on the roads of Bremen, Kentucky, he was driving on the racetrack, competing against some of the best drivers in the Midwest. Baize began his career racing go-karts, where a number of today’s NASCAR® stars begin their careers. Here is Hunter’s racing timeline:
2011 - Baby Grand Stock Cars
2012 - Pro National Baby Grand Stock Car Rookie of the Year, along with securing second in series points
2013- JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour a move to full-size stock cars, the same series that has produced NASCAR® stars such as Erik Jones and Chase Elliot. Finished an impressive ninth in series points scoring two top-10 finishes and six top-15 finishes
2014 - Hunter Baize Racing teamed up with VanDoorn Racing Development (VDR). VDR most recognized for their work in Late Model racing; names linked with the VanDoorns have included Erik Jones, Cody Coughlin and Chad Finley. Season was highlighted by Baize’s first career victory in a full-size stock car at the tricky Columbus Motor Speedway (OH)
One pole, five top-five finishes and six top-10 finishes helped the No. 13 Hunter Baize Racing team finish fifth in the overall point’s standings.
2015 – Baize, 18, finished third in the ARCA/CRA Super Series point standings last season with two wins and runner up for Rookie of the Year. Baize also finished ninth in his ARCA Racing Series debut at Berlin Speedway in Marne, Michigan. He followed that with a sixth-place run at Springfield's Illinois State Fairgrounds. Two starts and two top 10 finishes in the Menard’s ARCA Series, driving for former NASCAR® Sprint Cup driver, Ken Schrader. This success leads to the full time ride in the K & N Pro Series of NASCAR® for 2016.
Supported by the racing team of H Scott Motorsports with Justin Marks, Hunter will be teamed up with 3 other drivers shooting for the Championship and three of the four, including Hunter running for Rookie of the Year. Additional marketing partners include our sister company Jarden Home Brands with the Pine Mountain® Fire logs.
Bill Schildman, Directs of Sales for our Alternate Channels Division states “Hunter and his family embody the values and lifestyle the Bicycle® brand builds a marketing program to reach”. Connecting with the family is important and no other sport has the entire family involved as NASCAR® does. The family atmosphere at the track, the campers who attend each race make this a perfect outlet to market the Bicycle® brand and keep people in social contact by playing cards.
Our company will be running a number of promotions in conjunction with Hunter Baize on our website, Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram. The ultimate goal is to sell more playing cards and we feel there are some great partnership opportunities to build playing card programs with regional and national retailers in 2016. Let’s go racing!
