Bicycle® Playing Cards introduces new 809™ Mandolin Back™ Playing Cards
~ World’s Most Popular Playing Cards ~ Reveals New Deck designed for Card Artists
(Erlanger, KY, June 11, 2010) – Just the right touch, feel, look, snap and cut are key for the perfect deck. Bicycle® Playing Cards today announced the 809™ Mandolin Back™ deck, a new innovation from the leader in playing cards. Bicycle® Playing Cards are manufactured by The United States Playing Card Company (USPCC).
The new deck withstands the wear and tear of the most discerning card aficionado – from shuffling, to dealing to spreading and fanning – and is made using the same premium standards as the popular 808® playing card line. The card back design features a mandolin playing angel set within a design similar to the classic 808 Rider®Back design.
In addition to the new Bicycle® 809™ Mandolin Back™ playing cards which will be available later this year, USPCC will also continue producing the very popular Bicycle® 808® Rider® Back decks for card artists and magicians around the world.
“I've been working closely with USPCC for nearly two decades to optimize the tactile aesthetics and physical qualities of their playing cards,” said master card artist Richard Turner. “The Bicycle 809 Mandolin Back deck is USPCC at the top of their game. The new deck feels like an extension of my hands. With the superior USPCC quality card and contemporary Mandolin Design, this is destined to become the deck of choice for card artists.”
Astonishment artist Paul Harris worked along side the USPCC design team to create a new Bicycle® Playing Card back that's comfortably familiar yet has an innovative contemporary look.
“We are very pleased with the outcome of our collaboration with Richard whose understanding of optimizing card performance makes this deck an excellent fit for the card artist community,” said Doug Kruep, vice president and general manager, Games and Arts & Crafts, Jarden Leisure & Entertainment, a subsidiary of Jarden Corp.
